Sochaux – Paris FC : Paris held on
Reduced to 10 and then to 9, the Parisians were able to hold on against Sochaux (0-0). Paris FC starts the Ligue 2 BKT season with a courageous draw.
1′ A missed dribble by Filipovic almost gave Sochaux the lead, but the striker failed to score.
37′ First cautioned, Cyril Mandouki is sent off by Mr. Petit after a foul on a Sochaux player…
54′ Sochaux thinks to open the score by Sissoko, but the striker is flagged offside.
72′ Weissbeck tries his luck on the edge of the box. It’s over the top but Ivan was on the trajectory!
90+2′ Lopez is sent off. After a touch considered as false by the referee, he receives a second yellow card for contestation…
For its restart in Ligue 2 BKT, Paris FC was back to Sochaux, which it had left in the play-offs last season. If the first half is rather poor in chances, the game takes a different turn when Cyril Mandouki is red-carded after a challenge on Mauricio. In a much more defensive system after the break, Paris FC had to keep their backs to the ground to contain the onslaught of the hosts. Without necessarily being dangerous, Sochaliens camped in the Parisian camp but did not create many situations. If Paris FC was holding the draw, Julien Lopez’s avoidable exclusion sent some cold sweats to the Parisian supporters.
Final score 0-0. Paris FC held on and will try to win their first game of the season, at home, against Quevilly-Rouen Métropole.
