Official statement
Paris FC has taken note of the decision of the Commission Supérieure d’Appel, which confirms the five-match sanction relating to the pitch, but breaks it down into two matches of suspension from the pitch, then three matches at Charlety behind closed doors.
Paris FC will play its match against Ajaccio, co-leader of the championship, at Le Mans on Monday 7 February and the matches against Quevilly, Sochaux and Niort without the presence of its supporters.
The Club is pleased that the players and staff will be able to practice their profession in their stadium for these last three matches.
Paris FC thanks the UNFP and UNECATEF for their courageous position, highlighting the disproportionate nature of the sanction which affects the players, the staff and the entire Club.
Paris FC has confidence in the players and staff to take up this additional challenge; it calls on its supporters to show them, in various forms, the support they need to achieve their ambitious goals. It has no doubt that they will be exemplary in their behaviour, both at home and away, as they have been for years.
Paris FC will not fail to raise, in due course, the problems of governance that affect French football. These problems are currently reflected in disciplinary decisions that are completely unfair, when we analyse the treatment of recent incidents in stadiums.
The principle of fairness in the running of competitions, in this case the Ligue 2 championship, normally under the authority of the Professional Football League, is also clearly flouted.
