Paris FC welcomes new editor entrepreneur Allirajah Subaskaran through BRI Sports Holdings

British-Sri Lankan entrepreneur Allirajah Subaskaran has taken an equity stake in Ligue 2 side Paris FC*. The investment is made through BRI Sports Holdings, which is wholly owned by Allirajah Subaskaran, the founder and chairman of the Lyca Group set of companies in the UK.

BRI Sports Holdings becomes the second foreign investor in Paris FC, after the Kingdom of Bahrain purchased a stake in the club in 2020. The company has also joined the board of Paris FC.

“Paris FC is a highly ambitious club that is rapidly putting in place the investment and infrastructure required to realise the club’s potential and propel it to the top table of French men’s football. Expertly led by president Pierre Ferracci, Paris FC is expanding its resources on all fronts with the stated aim of promoting to Ligue 1 within the next two years and to continue to help its women’s side thrive. Paris holds a special place in my heart having lived in the city when I first came to Europe, and I’m thrilled to play a part in helping Paris FC and its fans achieve their dreams,” commented Allirajah Subaskaran, owner of BRI Sports Holdings.

The investment from BRI Sports Holdings further strengthens the club’s finances, and once again solidifies Paris FC’s development as it looks to expand internationally. “I am very delighted to welcome Allirajah Subaskaran to the Club. There is no doubt that this investment will help Paris FC to achieve its ambitious objectives, and is an opportunity to train a new wave of young international talent,” said Pierre Ferracci, chairman of Paris FC.

After brokering deals in Bahrain, Paris FC is opening up to South Asia and in particular India and Sri Lanka – markets where football is constantly developing.

Allirajah Subaskaran has a long history supporting elite level and community sports. He is the owner of the Jaffna Kings franchise in the Lanka Premier League professional Twenty20 cricket competition, and Lyca Productions , part of the Lyca Group, is owner of Lyca’s Kovai Kings, a cricket team playing in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (India). Lyca Mobile has been an official partner of English Premier League side West Ham United FC since 2012, including supporting the West Ham United Foundation on youth-focused initiatives.
